Maids discuss new holiday laws
More than 4 million household maids working in Thailand are now entitled to at least one day off a week thanks to new regulations aimed at improving their working conditions that took effect in November. Domestic workers are also entitled to 13 traditional paid holidays a year, six days of paid annual leave after one year of employment, and three days of paid sick leave a year. Never too old to learn
Just like her six-year-old classmates at Nongkatat School in Saraburi's Nong Saeng district, Boonruang Pohdaeng's typical school day starts in the playground when she lines up for the national anthem at 8am before proceeding to class. Special Olympics 2012
The Special Olympics is a bi-annual event that aims to develop the capacity and social skills of those with intellectual disability through sport. Jetjaras Na Ranong met the organisers and some of the athletes during the latest edition of the games, held at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok from July 26-30.
